Chapter 4-3: Preparing the Dining Table

After a successful shopping trip, we returned to the Shirogane residence.

From there, it took about an hour to cook...... and the curry was finally ready.

「Wow. It looks delicious.」

「Nyah.」

Sakuya looks at the steaming pot and vents in the low voice.

Sunagimo hugged also let out a meow that sounded like admiration.

The pot is full of freshly made curry.

The ingredients are a little bigger, but they have been slow cooked and are completely tender.

「Oh my goodness. Sakuya you should help a little too.」

Koyuki looks at Sakuya as she prepares the dishes.

「You left all the work to Sasahara-san and me.」

「I didn't want to be a bother.」

「You just wanted to have it easy. I'm sick of you. That's what little kids are for......」

Koyuki shrugged her shoulders in dismay.

Sakuya glared at her sister and softly looks back.

Beyond them is Naoya. While the sisters were busy, Naoya was in the kitchen working on a certain task.

Sakuya asks with her head cocked to the side.

「Brother-in-law. By the way, how would you translate this?」

「'Good job Sakuya! Thanks to you, I was able to learn how to use a knife. I'll give you a special cookie bunny later." I'd say that's it.」

「Enough! Turn off the translation function while you eat.」

It was Koyuki blackmailing the audience with what sounded like a movie theater commercial.

As they hold this conversation, it's ready. The sisters serve the curry over freshly cooked rice and set the table.

Koyuki looks at the carrot rolling in a sea of lu and lowers her eyebrows.

「Muuu...... I guess it's a little big after all!」

「I don't know. I like it better this way.」

「Oh yeah? Hmmm, I'm perfect after all.」

When Naoya follows him, Koyuki smiles.

Koyuki tried peeling potatoes and cutting carrots. Her hands were a bit dangerous, but she managed to do it without cutting her fingers.

Frying the ingredients, stirring the lye, it was all Koyuki's job, which is a pretty good accomplishment for the first cooking class.

Naoya also poured the curry and sat down across from the sisters.

Before that-

「Also, Shirogane-san I have a special bonus for you.」

「Huh?」

「You helped me. Here you go.」

I gently placed what I was making on Koyuki's curry plate.

What a surprise. It was a slice of cheese left over from the fridge. I had to work on it a bit.

Seeing this, Koyuki's face lights up.

「Oh my goodness! It's a cheese bunny.」

「Is such a coating possible?」

「Yes, but the decoration is self-service.」

「Hmm, it's a privilege to be a helper.」

「Tsk.」

With a deadpan expression and pursed lips, Sakuya slices the cheese.

At her feet, Sunagimo chewed with a sour look.

The result is a quiet gastronomic scene.
